Come and Catch the BIC Wave October 17

BALTIMORE - Oct. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Benefit Indemnity Corporation will be holding an inexpensive ($20) continuing education program for insurance agents and brokers about self-funded insurance products at the Sheppard Pratt Conference Center in Towson, Md., Thursday, Oct. 17, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Attendees can earn two Maryland continuing education credits at the event, which will be followed by a producer workshop on The Revolution Series, the company’s new self-funded insurance product line.

“We want to arm insurance agents with a better understanding of how self-funded insurance products can deliver an important, cost-saving alternative to many small businesses struggling to provide affordable health plan benefits to their employees,” said Rodger A. Bayne, CEO of Benefit Indemnity Corporation.

Bayne and Dawn Morgan, a vice president at Benefit Indemnity Corporation, will be delivering a course entitled “Self Funding 103: Compliance & the Law” from 8:30-10:30 a.m. The course includes the latest information on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and its effects on self-funded plans, as well as a history of laws and regulations fueling the current demand for self-funded plans.

“Not only will participants better understand the PPACA and its implications, but they will have new information to help their clients negotiate these complex times for health care,” Morgan said.
