Jeff Miller, chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, for requesting more details regarding Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis' medical records from the VA.
By: ISEPP ISEPP also encouraged Rep. Miller to expand his investigation beyond this individual case and to investigate the VA's documented overuse of potentially harmful psychotropic medications. For the past two years ISEPP has been working with the Veterans Administration and the Department of Defense to improve the treatment of veterans and soldiers who are diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Specifically, ISEPP has been advocating for the increased use of non-drug approaches to treatment, including sensorimotor psychotherapy, other trauma-informed psychotherapy, peer support and family support.
