Follow on Google News | Barry Bostwick Joins Apocalypse ComedyThe Rocky Horror Picture Show and Spin City star joins the cast of Diani & Devine Meet The Apocalypse
Written by and starring the comedy duo Gabriel Diani and Etta Devine, the project is a comedy in the spirit of the old Bob Hope and Bing Crosby “Road to…” movies about two struggling comedians who discover that surviving the apocalypse is almost as difficult as surviving in Hollywood. “I was in [Diani & Devine]’s first movie called The Selling,” Bostwick said, “It was brilliant, won a lot of awards. I had a great time with it and they said I can be in this one…if I behave myself.” Bostwick joins Armin Shimerman (Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Harry Groener (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dear John), Kitty Swink (Star Trek, Nikki and Nora), and Dawn Didawick (Hart of Dixie, Erin Brockovich) as members of a mysterious elite country club that provide shelter to the wandering comedy duo. Bostwick will be playing a member of the country club named “The Senator.” “Barry is one of the funniest and sweetest guys out there,” Diani said, “We’re very lucky to have been able to coerce him into being in our second film.” During his prolific career the Tony award winning Bostwick has starred as Brad Majors in the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show and was a regular on the Emmy nominated TV series Spin City during the entirety of its six-year run. The project will be raising production funds on Kickstarter this Fall. Gabriel Diani and Etta Devine are award-winning actors, writers, and comedians who are often compared with classic comedy teams like Nichols and May and Burns and Allen. They have performed at comedy festivals all over the country, raised over $30,000 on Kickstarter to replace the “N-word” with “Robot” in Mark Twain’s “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” (http://www.kickstarter.com/ End
