Follow on Google News | Cleveland Browns Have Already Hit Bottom Says Sports HandicapperAfter trading 2012 first round draft pick Trent Richardson, it seems readily apparent to sports handicapper Nick Parsons that the Cleveland Browns have already decided their season is over after just two games.
By: Vegas Experts The team’s strategy, according to Parsons, is to either stockpile enough draft picks in order to select the top quarterback in the 2014 NFL Draft, or simply be the worst team in the league and take that signal caller with the top pick. The quarterback in question is expected to be either Teddy Bridgewater of Louisville or Johnny Manziel of Texas A & M. Cleveland’s starting quarterback in its first two games, Brandon Weeden, will miss this Sunday’s game against the winless Minnesota Vikings due to a thumb injury suffered in the team’s 14-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last weekend. Weeden’s overall status has been in question since the arrival of a new front office, headed by new owner Jimmy Haslam. Weeden’s replacement, Brian Hoyer, is actually the team’s third-string quarterback, a clear indication to Parsons that the team doesn’t consider veteran Jason Campbell a long-term solution. Parsons also points to Cleveland’s December 1 home game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars as a game that may determine which team gets the top pick in the NFL draft. Like the Browns, Jacksonville has begun its season with an 0-2 record, with little expectation of improvement. The Browns are currently underdogs of 6.5-points to the Vikings, according to Parsons.
