Chrysler Canada Reports Significant Sales Increases in August

A total of 21,932 vehicles were sold last month, which is a 7 percent increase in sales over August of last year. 3,699 passenger cars were sold this past August, resulting in a 16 percent increase over August 2012. As a result, the automaker has sold more vehicles at this point in the year than any year since 1988.

The Dodge Journey has been considered the number-one selling crossover in the country since it was first introduced. Approximately 2,551 Journey models were sold last month, marking a 6 percent increase compared to August of 2012, which saw 2,404 vehicles sold.

An all-time sales record was set by the Chrysler Town & Country this past August. 1,388 units were sold, which is a 689 percent increase compared to the 176 vehicles moved in August 2012. Ram pickup truck sales continue to show no signs of slowing down, with 9 months of consecutive year-over-year sales growth. Exactly 6,761 Ram trucks were sold in August 2013, representing a 24 percent increase in sales versus the 5,464 vehicles sold in August of last year. For the very first time through August, Chrysler Canada is the number-one seller of light trucks in the country.
