ATLANTA - Sept. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- ATLANTA—Sept. 7, 2013—Acclaimed landscape designers, Mary Palmer Dargan and husband, Hugh Dargan, will present a landscape masterclass at the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead, Ga., from Sept. 19, through Sept. 21. The three-day event, “Create a Garden for Health and Longevity in Three Days,” offers a unique look at how to create a garden oasis that can deliver health and wellness benefits.

Among the topics explored at the event are the studies of Japanese “forest bathing,” known as Shinrin-yoku, that suggest time spent outdoors among trees and plants can actually promote lower blood pressure and reduce stress. The Dargans will demonstrate how to create therapeutic gardens that embrace the spirit of Shinrin-yoku, while also providing a tranquil ambience for yoga or Pilates, and space for growing nourishing food.

As Palmer Dargan explains: “Our extensive work, creating beautiful gardens since 1973 has allowed us to discover the components of landscape design that not only give pleasure to property owners, but also relieves stress, so they can reconnect with nature after a hectic day.”

In addition, the workshop will include tours of Buckhead gardens and teach attendees the secrets of landscape design, whether they need a balcony retreat, a garden for a growing family, or a low maintenance garden for retirement. Suitable for novices or seasoned gardeners, the event includes guest speakers who have expertise in design, plants, garden history, and landscape lighting.
