Environmental Compliance Expert Lisa McMichael Joins Kleinfelder in Texas

 
HOUSTON - Aug. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- HOUSTON, Texas –Kleinfelder (http://www.kleinfelder.com/) -- a global architecture, engineering, and science consulting firm -- has announced the addition of Lisa McMichael as an environmental compliance project manager in the company’s Houston office.  She brings more than 10 years of experience on a vast array of large-scale transportation, energy, and environmental projects, both nationally and internationally.

In her new position, McMichael will act as a project manager for the company’s environmental management, assessments, investigations, remediation, and regulatory compliance services, with special emphasis on the transportation market.

“Knowing how to meet environmental laws, policies, and standards is more difficult as regulations become more stringent,” said Russell Karr, the regional delivery manager for Kleinfelder in Texas. “Kleinfelder aims to be the trusted environmental partner in Texas by helping our clients navigates this difficult path.  By hiring Ms. McMichael, we can now provide the best in environmental permitting and compliance.”

Throughout her career, McMichael has demonstrated a robust track record of maintaining strong relationships with the port industry, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE (http://www.swg.usace.army.mil/)) Galveston District, and other governmental/regulatory agencies. Prior to joining Kleinfelder, McMichael contributed to many large-scale projects which reshaped Port Freeport (http://www.portfreeport.com/), where she was the environmental coordinator. During this time, she planned, developed and initiated the implementation of a multimedia Environmental Management System for the Port Authority; led various dredged material planning and shoreline initiatives, as the port’s representative on the Brazoria County Shoreline Restoration Task Force; participated in the development of the Environmental Impact Statement for the Freeport Channel Widening Project; and participated in the permitting and construction process for the Freeport Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project.

McMichael holds a Bachelor of Science in environmental management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Throughout her career, she has served with many local and professional organizations, including the Texas Association of Environmental Professionals (TAEP), American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA)-Harbors, Navigation, and Environment Committee, Texas Ports Association Environmental Committee, American Shore and Beach Preservation Association (ASBPA)-Texas Chapter, Brazoria County Shoreline Restoration Task Force, and the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), amongst others.
