MPA November member Meeting Presents Corky Kessler on Equity Crowd Funding models and Sec 181
You will learn how you can grandfather projects under Sec 181 before it sunsets in January. And under a new scenario, the “Jump Start Act of 2012” soliciting for certain investment opportunities is allowed.
Now that the Securities and Exchange Commission has lifted an 80-year old ban on how capital investments — including those for movies – may be achieved, interesting opportunities may present themselves, explains attorney Hal “Corky” Kessler, one of the industry’s experts on film investments.
Mr. Kessler has extensive entertainment law, corporate and worldwide entertainment industry experience and regularly speaks on the business and legal aspects of feature film development and tax incentives in connection with the entertainment industry, and authored a reference book covering such federal and state tax incentives.
MPA is excited to be able to bring Corky to speak on this hot button topic. Join us!
