EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Aug. 7, 2013 - PRLog -- NCADD of Middlesex County, Inc. is pleased to present the North American tour of the new hit stage play - “PASS IT ON…AN EVENING WITH BILL W. & DR. BOB.”
Performances will be held Saturday at The Theater at Rutgers University's Livingston Student Center, Piscataway, New Jersey on September 28th at 7pm and Sunday, September 29th at 2pm. Proceeds from the performances will benefit the local and national efforts of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD).
This unique, inspirational and often hilarious theatrical production celebrates sobriety and serves as the center piece for an international recovery education project –raising awareness about the solution to North America’s Number One Public Health Issue – the disease of Alcoholism and Addiction.
“PASS IT ON…” has created excitement among audiences and recovery communities all over the United States, Canada and around the globe – offering audiences an unforgettable evening of inspirational recovery-based entertainment in over 100 cities in the U.S. and Canada over the next two years.

“PASS IT ON…AN EVENING WITH BILL W. & DR. BOB” is staged as if you are at an old time recovery meeting with the beloved co-founders of Alcoholics Anonymous as the keynote speakers.

They tell their personal stories of drinking and of sobriety while dramatizing key events such as their legendary drinking sprees and the extraordinary night they met in Akron Ohio in 1935.  Bill W. & Dr. Bob regale the audience with fascinating and hilarious yarns about how they overcame tremendous obstacles as they struggled to develop their new program of recovery and pass it on to others who were still suffering.

The roles of Bill W. and Dr. Bob are portrayed by nationally acclaimed actors Gary Kimble and Will Stutts. Kimble has performed in dozens of Broadway Musicals, on stages in 800 cities around the globe, and portrayed Bill W. in the U.S.  National Tour of the off Broadway Play “Bill W. and Dr. Bob.” Gary has travelled North America - appearing as Bill W. (including at the 75th International A.A. Convention in San Antonio Texas). Gary also appears as Bill W. in the landmark PBS/Northern Light Productions T.V. documentary “One Day At A Time – A History of Hope” telling the history of A.A. and 12 Step Recovery as a global healing phenomenon. Will Stutts (Dr. Bob) has performed on Broadway, Off Broadway and every major regional theater in the United States.
Addiction and Alcoholism have reached epidemic proportions in the United States. The show is designed to inspire the public and reach out to those struggling with the disease of addiction, inspiring them to find treatment, and embrace recovery. By attending this unique, entertaining and unforgettable event audience members become a part of the solution and support the mission of NCADD on the national and local level.

NCADD encourages our friends in the community to donate tickets with our “Pass On a Seat to Pass It On” program.
