Hempstead Hyundai Dealer, Millennium Hyundai, Responded to Hyundai Coming Closer to H2 Cars in U.S.

ELMONT, N.Y. - Aug. 6, 2013 - PRLog -- On August 6, 2013, Millennium Hyundai commented on an AutoBlog Green article by Danny King, regarding Hyundai coming closer to hydrogen fuel cell cars in the U.S. by updating their hydrogen station in California to be able fuel 20 fuel cell vehicles a day.

According to the AutoBlog Green article (http://green.autoblog.com/2013/08/06/hyundai-hydrogen-station-will-refuel-20-vehicles-a-day/), “The California Energy Commission (CEC) is supplying a $3-million grant so the eight-year-old hydrogen refueling station at the Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. can be upgraded and opened to the public by October 2014 dispensing H2 made solely from renewable-energy resources.”

 The article states that the grant, along with $1.7 million funded by Hyundai Frontier Inc. will provide an update to the station that will provide enough hydrogen for 20 full tanks a day. The article also mentions that Hyundai has set a goal to produce 1,000 fuel cell vehicles by 2015, and that they are more energy efficient than electric battery powered cars.

According to Dr. Sung Hwan Cho, President of Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc., "With world-class partners like Hydrogen Frontier and the support of the California government, we are expanding the hydrogen fueling infrastructure and taking one more step toward mass production of a fuel cell electric vehicle." The article states that there are 10 publicly accessible hydrogen stations in the U.S. and this upgrade is just one step in the right direction to bring more hydrogen cars to the U.S.
