Amelia's 25th Hits Next Phase of Release

LOS ANGELES - July 29, 2013 - PRLog -- KMK Productions and Breaking Glass Pictures film Amelia’s 25th will go into release on August 6, 2013, hitting the sites of some of the country’s biggest retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Best Buy.

The film features a star-studded cast, including Danny Trejo, Electra Avellan, Ashley Parker Angel and Robert Rodriguez (in his first on-camera acting role), with Margaret Cho and Jennifer Tilly. Amelia’s 25th tells the story of Amelia, a struggling actress who is nearing her 25th birthday—the age where Hollywood actresses become “over the hill.”

“It’s a coming-of-age story based in Los Angeles where everyone is obsessed with youth,” says Mark Whittington, KMK Productions producer who also co-wrote the movie and stars in the film as the narrator. “Amelia realizes her life is not where she thought it would be at 25, and she looks for guidance in some pretty surprising places.”

Those places include a psychic, cross-dressing neighbor and sex shop. Part romp, part dark comedy, the movie has been compared to 200 Cigarettes, Garden State and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. Over the course of a single day, Amelia moves toward accepting her age…and herself.

“When I read this script, I knew it was the right combination of dark comedy that could shine with the right actors, and that’s definitely who we found,” says Karin Kelts of KMK Productions who plays Eve in the movie. The other “K” in KMK Productions is Kim St. Leon, the film's executive producer.
