Korean War Veterans to Receive Commemorative Gift of Gratitude from Korean Industries & Government

Korean War 60th Commemoration to include first phase distribution of historical gift; Korean sponsorship alliance to present gift to all KW veterans; 500,000 to be distributed nationwide in cooperation with the Dept. of Defense KW60 Commemoration.

WASHINGTON - July 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Washington D.C.---The first phase of an unprecedented gift to all Korean War veterans nationwide will be launched July 27, 2013 at the Korean War Memorial to close the 3 year commemorative period. With President Barack Obama officiating,  seven thousand copies of “Korea Reborn: A Grateful Nation Pays Tribute to the Veterans of the Korean War” will be presented to all Korean War veterans attending the ceremony beginning at 10:00 AM EST. This gift was produced to cap the three-year Korean War 60th Commemorative period, with 2013 decreed by the United States Congress to be the “Year of the Korean War Veteran.”

Funding for the large-scale gift was provided by an alliance of  South Korean public and private sectors, led by the Ministry of Patriot and Veterans Affairs (MPVA), and the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).

Sixty years after the signing of the armistice agreement, Korea is now one of the most powerful economies in the world, having made the impressive rise from a donor recipient nation, to a giving nation with less than 3.5% unemployment. It is for this reason that the Federation of Korean Industries chose to become the funding source behind the largest gift of its kind to ever be presented to all veterans of a designated war period.

“I fully agree that this project is worthwhile to pursue for the sake of strengthening the US-Korea relationship,” expresses Mr. Jin Haeng Chung, President of the Hyundai Motor Group based in Seoul. “We hope this opportunity will help to strengthen the alliance and cooperation between our two countries.”

Remember My Service (RMS) Productions—a Division of StoryRock, Inc. based in Salt Lake City, Utah—is the producer and publisher of the commemorative DVD documentary (expected release date Fall 2013) and book entitled “Korea Reborn: A Grateful Nation Pays Tribute to the Veterans of the Korean War.”  RMS will supervise distribution at ceremonies nationwide in commemoration of the “Year of the Korean War Veteran.”
