U.S. Students Continue To Trail The World In Math Skills

The U.S., statistically speaking, can say it is improving math scores vs. the rest of the developed countries of the world, but that’s trying to put lipstick on a pig.

OMAHA, Neb. - July 12, 2013 - PRLog -- For a country that pays so much in taxes, shouldn’t it be in the top five in most educational categories?  Smart Apps 4 Kids is trying to help provide some aid with its release of “Money Math: Counting Coins” in the App Store a few days ago.  It was developed for the iPad and helps children with counting coins in numerous ways.

Smart Apps 4 Kids new app Money Math made its debut in the App Store on July 3rd and is out to help children with their math skills when it comes to counting coins.  There are nine different games for children to play in which they add and subtract coins.  It has three different levels so the children can continue to be challenged.  In addition, there is also stimulating U.S. state and coin information.  Money Math can track up to 4 different player’s statistics on how they are performing.  The app revolves around General George and his quest to save 50 magic coins that were stolen by Benny Arnold.

The U.S. education system is suffering and no change appears to be around the corner anytime soon.  The finger can be pointed in many different directions:  the teaching curriculum is stale, lower wages for teachers keeps some of the best people way, parent’s lack of participation in school work, funding is drying up… and there are plenty more excuses to pass around.  There are many different tools that can be added to our current education system to get our kids to the head of the class.  Smart Apps 4 Kids is trying to do its part by developing fun and enlightening “education first” games for children.

Children today are growing up with some great tools around them like the tablet, smart phones and laptops.  It only makes sense to try and incorporate these tools into our children’s education.  Everyone has a different style of learning that works best for them, so the more tools at our children’s finger tips only improves the chances of enhancing their education.  Smart Apps 4 Kids and other educational app developers are putting these new tools in the hands of the children hoping to make an impact.

Any technology tool that is connected to the Internet has risks involved when dealing with children.  Money Math also is taking your child’s privacy seriously by not including the following:  internal links out to the Internet, In-App Purchases, ads, social networking features and GPS tracking.  Smart Apps 4 Kids is a member of the Moms With Apps ‘KNOW what’s inside’ program that lets parents know what is and what is not in apps before they purchase them.  If we want our children to use these wonderful technological tools, it only makes sense to try and protect them too.  Smart Apps 4 Kids apps do that by not including the above-mentioned features in them.

There is one sure-fire way to continue to fail when it comes to our education system and that is to continue on the current path.  Change is hard, but if anything should break the binding chains of “do nothing” it should be our children.  Money Math and its creators say, “we will make change with our coin app and do it the right way.”
