Each month, The Honolulu Fashion Invitational brings together local rising fashion designers and provides an opportunity for a creative and high-end runway presentation, with a competition twist. Scheduled to take place at one of Honolulu's largest art venues, The FIX Sports Lounge and Nightclub, the Honolulu Fashion Invitational will benefit arts education programs for at-risk Hawaii youth through the efforts of Afterschool Art (www.AfterschoolArtHawaii.org). A native northern Californian, Patricia Clariza, transferred from Los Angeles design school, Otis College of Art and Design, to finish her fashion education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Besides being drawn to Hawaii's beautiful beaches, picturesque landscapes, and familial influence from her sisters already living in the islands, Patricia wanted to receive more merchandising and business education; Otis had an extensive art, design, and skills based curriculum. Now she is more than ready to enter the industry. For design philosophy, Patricia attributes her inspirations to her love of history and the subtle theatricality of the past. She prefers an elegant, but sexy aesthetic which you can see in her current collection, "Moonshine", inspired by a hybrid mix of the glamorous 1920's and 1930's.

After years of delaying, Randy Leano recently migrated to Hawaii from Laoag City, Philippines where he is a fashion designer who placed 7th as one of the finalists on Project Runway- Philippines, Season 2. In the pageantry world since 1999, he has been the artistic director of Miss Laoag - The International Quest for Pamulinawen Festival Queen and since 2006 “Engkantada”, a prestigious gay pageant in the Philippines; two annual pageants drawing an average crowd of 5,000 because of it’s creative and elaborate stage design and production presentation. As a teacher, he was an instructor and Chief of the Socio-Cultural Affairs of Mariano Marcos State University. He traveled the US and Southeast Asia as a member and assistant choir master of Sagibsib Performing Arts Troupe. Besides his passion for fashion designing and stage production he enjoys sewing, singing, dancing and spending time with friends.
