Ellis thinks big with Colossus launch

RILLINGTON, U.K. - June 20, 2013 - PRLog -- The world’s leading cable cleat manufacturer, Ellis, is aiming big with the launch of its new product range – Colossus

The heavy duty trefoil cleats are manufactured from 316L stainless steel and LSF polymer, have been short circuit tested to a level of 104kA peak, and are aimed principally at the transmission and distribution, and utility markets.

Richard Shaw, managing director of Ellis, said: “Our research and development team continually monitor the market for feedback and their research showed a significant demand for a heavy duty trefoil solution, but no product readily available.”

“We developed Colossus in direct response and, having unveiled it for the first time at CIRED in Stockholm in early June, have been delighted with the enthusiasm with which its introduction was greeted.”

The new range comprises 14 sizes of clamp, which are suitable for cables ranging from 25mm diameter through to 168mm. While for all cables above 69mm, the option of a saddle version of Colossus is available – an innovative development that delivers the flexibility for an extra 100mm of support to both sides of the clamp.

One of the major benefits of the new range is that the base of all Colossus products can be secured directly to the structure prior to cable installation. The cables can then be laid directly on to it and the over strap installed separately.
