By: www.ADA-parking.com Length - Generally and with very few exceptions, the rear grab bar must be a minimum of 36-inches in length and the side grab bar must be a minimum of 42-inches in length. Position - The REAR wall grab bar should be positioned so that it extends from the centerline of the toilet 12 inches (minimum) on one side, and 24 inches (minimum) on the other side. The SIDE wall grab bar should be positioned so that it extends 12 inches (maximum) from the rear wall and 54 inches (minimum) from the rear wall. Sound complicated?
