1. Internet address.

This is probably the most basic one of all. When typing an address in the top bar, one doesn;t even have to type http, or www, instead one can just type in the name. For example, one can type pomdesign.com and press enter and the rest will be filled out. Even quicker, for .com websites if one just types in pomdesign, then press Ctrl + Enter, it will type out the full www.pomdesign.com website for you. Presto!

2. Internet search engines

Make the most of a search engine. If one is searching for web designers for example, and they're not finding what they want, try putting the exact words in quotes, so try ‘web designers’. These quotes help the search engine to look for pages with the words ‘web’ and ‘designers’, and not specifically those words placed next to each other.

3. Browsing using tabs

If one comes across a page that they're interested in but want to read later, they should make use of the tabs. They can hold down the Ctrl key while clicking the link. If they have a mouse with a wheel, clicking the middle button will also open a tab.

4. Alternative Browsers.

Though it is simple to just use the default internet browser that comes with the computer (for Microsoft Windows that would be Internet Explorer), there are a number of good alternative browsers, which in some cases offer features the default browser will not have.

5. Add-ons and Plugins
