Chrysler Canada Achieves Record Sales for the Month of May

SASKATOON, Saskatchewan - June 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Knight Dodge, a local Swift Current Chrysler dealership (http://www.knightdodge.ca/new-inventory/), announced that Chrysler Canada’s May 2013 sales were the highest May sales in 24 years. A total of 29,949 automobiles were sold last month, which was a 12% increase over last year’s total May vehicle sales of 26,218. Passenger car sales saw a total increase of 24% this past month as well.

The brand-new Dodge Dart (http://www.knightdodge.ca/new-inventory/dart/) is continuing to build momentum. With less than a year on the market, the innovative model achieved a sales record of 1,134 total recorded sales in May of this year. The Dodge Avenger had a 26% increase in sales with 1,244 reported sales this past month.

The Dodge Grand Caravan is still the best-selling minivan in the country, holding 50% of the market. However, the Chrysler Town & Country had a 26% increase in year-over-year sales last month with 1,112 total vans sold.

For Ram trucks, May 2013 was a landmark period. Reportedly, a total of 8,045 Ram 1500’s were sold last month, which was a 22% increase over the 6,596 models sold In May 2012. Out of approximately 300 different makes and models, the Ram brand is still the second best-selling in the entire country.

The Jeep Patriot and Jeep Compass sported a 28% increase in May sales over May 2012 with 745 and 751 vehicles sold respectively. The Jeep Wrangler is still Canada’s leading sport utility vehicle in the compact segment with 2,152 automobiles sold, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee took over as the best-selling model in the full-size segment with 1,266 sales.
