Dan grew up around photography because his father was an amateur photographer from when he was a teenager (including a stint as a Navy photographer during WWII). Dan's dad often had a camera with him and had his darkroom set up in the master bathroom.

Dan has taken photographs for many years and developed his style based upon his observations and personality. When a number of disparate people encouraged him to start selling prints of his work, and this encouragement all occurred around the same time, he decided there might be something to this and began selling prints in 2011.

Dan expanded his photography into the realms of portraiture and commercial assignments in 2012. In addition to photography, Dan spent 25+ years in Information Technology as a systems analyst, project manager, and people manager. While this doesn't seem immediately relevant, there are many crossovers: organization, planning, executing a plan, attention to detail, meeting deadlines, being open to change, discovering what people really want and need, working to bring out the best in people, selling and marketing (whether it's products or proposals), packaging, and being able to communicate with people with very different backgrounds.
