HomeAid Sacramento was Founded in 1996, is a 501(c ) (3) nonprofit charitable organization that builds and renovates multi-unit transitional housing facilities for nonprofit shelters and services providers serving temporarily homeless families and individuals in the Sacramento Region. This project was able to become reality with the efforts of the Advocates for Mentally Ill Housing (AMIH) “Placer County has very few permanent housing beds available for homeless adults with mental illness and their families…. The current Placer County homeless count indicates that 187 adults or 40% f the homeless adult population in Placer county have mental illness.” All efforts in construction and time were donated by many tireless volunteers, including Von Jac Developments, Inc, and their Builder Captain, Cheryl Gibson. This event was wonderfully attended by many of the Board Members of HomeAid Sacramento, Builder Industry Association (BIA), and honored by the Vice Mayor of Auburn, Bridget Powers, and countless other volunteers and participants. “Placer County has very few permanent housing beds available for homeless adults with mental illness and their families….
