Babel’s Paint and Decorating Stores Customer Wins $5,000 in Hunter Douglas Window Fashions

NORWOOD, Mass. - May 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Babel’s Paint & Decorating Stores is happy to announce that Pam Willis from Norwood, MA is the lucky winner of the Hunter Douglas Blinds and Shades “Warm up the Winter” $5,000 Giveaway. The contest was promoted by local radio station WMJX Magic 106.7, and Babel’s Paint and Decorating Stores was one of the many Hunter Douglas dealers to participate.

“We are thrilled that one of our regular customers won,” said Jeanne Babel, of Babel Paint & Decorating Stores. Diane O’Brien, one of Babel’s color consultants, had gone to Pam’s home to help her choose paint colors for her home. While there, Diane also suggested Hunter Douglas window treatments because of their unique style and ability to help with energy efficiency, and that is when she told Pam about the contest. Diane later contacted Pam and told her that her name was selected as the winner of the contest. Pam was so excited and thankful to Diane who had encouraged her to enter. With Diane’s help, she selected Alustra®, Luminette®, Privacy Sheers, and Pirouette® window shadings for her living room and kitchen.

Victor Babel, Sr. and his wife, Mickey, opened the first Babel's store in 1950 in his hometown of Norwood, MA. Babel's quickly developed a reputation for quality paint and wallpaper products, personalized service and attention to detail.

Twenty years later, Victor and Mickey's youngest son, Vic, Jr. with the support and partnership of his wife Jeanne, the second generation of Babel's took over the business and began seeking opportunities for growth.

In the early 1990's it became clear that Babel's was not just a paint and wallpaper store. With the addition of professional designers, it had grown into a full-service decorating center. In 1994, the store name was officially changed to Babel's Paint & Decorating Store.

In 1996 Vic and Jeanne opened their second store in Jeanne's hometown of Needham, MA, followed three years later with the addition of the Foxboro store. In 2005, Babels acquired a paint store in Canton at Cobb’s Corner which they quickly renovated to include design services.

From 400 square feet in 1950, Babel's stores have grown to four locations. With more than 30 employees – Babels is pleased to continue its path of growth, success and service to the community.
