PITTSBURGH - May 17, 2013 - PRLog -- The Griffith family is proud to announce that the business is back in the family.  According to William E. Griffith, Jr., supervisor of the firm, "there was a change in ownership at the funeral home on May 1, 2013."  Griffith Funeral Home, Inc., which is now owned and operated by the Griffith family, is still located in the same building at 5636 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236 in South Park Township.  

The decision to get back into the business came while the business was being operated by a national network of funeral service providers. “I am excited to be given the opportunity to return the family-named business back to a family owned business.  However, the transition wasn't easy.  I had to change our telephone number and that has caused some confusion.  Our new telephone number is (412) 655-4600 but some families were still dialing the old telephone number.  I was sick when I heard that some families couldn't reach us, especially in their time of need," Griffith said.

"Getting the word out about our new telephone number is first on my list.  I don’t want other families to go through the same thing due to the change in ownership and the telephone number.  I am trying to let everyone know about the situation so they have the right telephone number if they would like to contact us to serve their family.  I want people to know that the services they receive at our funeral home will not be unchanged but, rather, improved.  I want families to know that if they call on us in a time of need, it is our promise that their loved one will be cared for as if they were a member of our own family," says Griffith.

“When the opportunity arose to get back into the business, it was perfect timing. I realized that the best way to offer the highest level of personalized services to our families could only be achieved by a family owned firm,” says Griffith.

Now, over 85 years since that first business began serving the community, the Griffith family is carrying on the tradition of personal service to families in their time of greatest need.
