New IFM Risk Courses Approved for GARP Credits

The Institute for Financial Markets (IFM) is making it easier for certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and Energy Risk Professional (ERP) to meet their continuing education requirements through risk-relevant courses.

WASHINGTON - May 14, 2013 - PRLog -- The FRM® and ERP® designations are awarded by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP), the only globally recognized leader in financial risk testing and certification programs.

GARP is a not-for-profit global organization representing more than 150,000 professionals from banks, investment management firms, government agencies and academic institutions. In an effort to accommodate the schedules and learning needs of its membership, GARP recently selected the IFM as an approved training provider to helps professional meet their ongoing educational requirements. At press time, GARP selected two risk-relevant IFM courses — Credit Risk in Emerging Markets and Operational Risk of OTC Derivatives — and each course is eligible for 6.5 hours. These IFM courses are currently being offered in Chicago and New York in June 2013. Other courses and dates will be offered on a regular basis going forward.

The IFM is a nonprofit educational foundation, and an independent affiliate of the Futures Industry Association. IFM’s mission is to promote professional knowledge, judgment and integrity by providing research, educational resources and training to financial services industry participants and to interested constituencies including investors, journalists, academicians and public-policy makers.
