Nonprofit Website Goes Dark In Anticipation Of Friday Announcement

PHILADELPHIA - April 30, 2013 - PRLog -- FATE is Philadelphia's only 501(c)(3) organization solely dedicated to the intelligent and targeted promotion of technology in education. For the last year, FATE has connected Philadelphia's students with education technology programs such as Bootstrap, a revolutionary algebra and computer programming education course aimed at middle schoolers. This Friday, FATE will make a major announcement regarding the future of the organization.

This Friday, May 3, 2013, from 6:30pm-8:30pm, FATE Bootstrap will present the First Anniversary Bootstrap Expo and Silent Auction City Managing Director and Deputy Mayor Richard Negrin will keynote the event at 7pm, speaking on the importance of education and technology. The event will be held in the Class of 1949 Auditorium in the University of Pennsylvania's Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce Street.

“The FATE Bootstrap Expo is a chance for Bootstrap participants to showcase their creations and answer questions about math and code from the public, including engineers and professors,” said Kelly Ohlert, Executive Director of FATE. “Our last Expo featured Zora Ball, a 7 year-old first grader who has been hailed across the world as ‘the world's youngest video game programmer’.

For now, FATE is staying quiet about the dark website and countdown clock. "We're confident that everyone will make the connection on Friday at the Expo", said FATE Executive Director Kelly Affannato Ohlert
