Paul Camarinha Presents Personal Safety Workshop at Toastmasters District 83 Conference

2013 Spring District 83 Conference features “Be Aware! Be Awake! Be Safe!” workshop by Toastmaster and Police Officer Paul Camarinha, a guest speaker, and the International Speech Contest. The event is scheduled May 17-19, 2013, in Newark, NJ.

ELIZABETH, N.J. - April 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Toastmasters District 83, serving 150 clubs in New Jersey, Rockland County and Staten Island, is hosting its 2013 Spring conference, titled, "Out of Many, Comes the Voice of Excellence". The conference will be held on May 17-19, 2013 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark Airport, 128 Frontage Road, Newark, NJ 07114.   The event will feature Keynote by Star Ledger's Karin Price Mueller, the International Speech Contest, and twelve breakout sessions, including Paul Camarina’s "Be Aware! Be Awake! Be Safe!" workshop.

Paul Camarinha is a decorated Police Officer with the Elizabeth, NJ Police Department and Principle of Elite Personal Defense LLC.  Camarinha’s workshop titled, “Be Awake! Be Aware! Be Safe!” offers attendees the opportunity to learn personal safety tips and techniques needed to avoid dangerous situations and avoid becoming a victim.  

“This workshop is based on my professional experience in law enforcement and from elements from the “Refuse to be a Victim” course, a NRA 4-hour course, which I am a Certified Instructor, said Camarinha.

Hundreds of Toastmasters members in the Metropolitan New Jersey, Rockland County, Staten Island area — as well as their family, friends, and the general public — will gather together to attend educational presentations on how to sharpen their public speaking, communication and leadership skills.

In addition to the conference educational sessions, District 83’s top-notch speakers will compete in the District 83 International Speech Contest scheduled for Saturday and the District 83 International Evaluation Contest for Sunday morning.
