The HTC One has been released to market.

April 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Chinese company HTC’s long awaited Smartphone, The HTC One was released on the 17th April 2013. The company’s flagship handset is the company’s costly gamble and currently the biggest Challenger to market dominator Samsung, who in a few weeks will be releasing the highly anticipated 4th addition to their popular Galaxy series, the Samsung Galaxy S4. The HTC One has received praise from several tech review sites, with particular credit given to the phone’s ultra premium feel, solid chassis, 1080p screen (Full HD) and good looking design. Other mentions include it’s improved Sense 5 features, front facing speakers and its innovative camera which, in some respects, rivals the likes of Nokia’s Lumia 920 and Apple’s iPhone 5 cameras.

It is without a doubt the best Smartphone produced by HTC thus far, and it’s strongest chance of stealing some sales away from Samsung and Apple. HTC will somehow need to employ a heavy and effective marketing campaign, if they’re to have any chance of making their phone’s presence felt beyond the tech sites and towards the average consumer, an expensive strategy that Apple and Samsung can afford to employ and do so ferociously.

The HTC One itself isn’t without its shortcomings either, with no expandable storage, non-removable battery, and worryingly,  some analysts have said the battery life is below par, a prevailing legacy that’s haunted many of HTC’s phones in the past.

However those issues do not outweigh its strengths, the HTC One is easily one of the best phones on the market right now. We shall see in the coming months how the public will respond as it faces up against the S4 and newer phones.

In the meantime, if you don’t want to spend a fortune to get the latest and don’t mind getting your hands on impressive phones from last year, you can buy a used Samsung or another second hand mobile at competitive lower prices.
