Large Midwest Cable Provider Uses APMAX Video Monitor

BLAIR, Neb. - April 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Blair, NE – Great Plains Communications is now using the APMAX Video Monitor service to monitor their channel quality. GPC is Nebraska’s largest independent telecommunications company, serving 89 rural communities, providing cable services to 40 of them. GPC also offers a video feed to one of Innovative Systems' IPTV Middleware clients. Using the Video Monitor feature fed to a big screen in their NOC center, GPC can use the APMAX Green Light, Red Light dashboard to easily see when a signal falls below acceptable quality standards.


According to GPC's Chief Network Engineer, John Greene, "The APMAX Video Monitor is a great tool for us because it's visual to the point where you can instantly look up at over 200 channels and see if there are two or three that have audio drop outs, tiling or packet issues. There is a yellow light or red light display that tells us we need to drill down deeper into the problem." Greene adds, "Because the signal we feed our IPTV client is so similar to our own we actually prefer this tool to monitor our own network. We have other tools for deeper analysis, but for its price point this solution is far and away a good value for its quick and easy real time monitoring."
