Quick Pick Crane Adds New 80 Ton Hydraulic Tuck Crane to Fleet

Connecticut based crane and rigging service trades in older model 70 ton crane for state of the art Grove TMS800e.

DERBY, Conn. - April 25, 2013 - PRLog -- A Quick Pick Crane & Rigging took delivery of a brand new Grove TMS800E, an 80 ton mobile hydraulic truck crane.  It’s the company’s first out of 2 major equipment upgrades this year.  The machine will be replacing a 1996 Grove TMS870, a 70 ton crane.

While the company has been slowly adding to its fleet of 26 cranes during the construction downturn since 2008, this move in particular follows the industry trend over the last 5 years.  Crane rental companies have been trading up in “tonnage” rather than purchasing additional machines for their fleets.

The Grove TMS800E features 128’ of main power boom and a 56’ offsetable jib for a maximum tip height of 190’.  Compared to 110’ of main, 56’ jib, and 175’ of tip height on the machine it is replacing.

Shawmut Equipment of Manchester, CT delivered the crane at approximately 8:30 AM on Friday, April 19, 2013.  Shawmut spent a majority of the day training Quick Pick employees how to operate the machine.  http://www.aquickpickcrane.com
