In order to qualify to provide training to other dentists, the course of study must match the stated objectives of the dental board. The same educational standards as would be expected in true university discipline are required. The types of courses of study that are required include dental and medical health, preventive services, diagnosis, treatment, clinical procedures, dental practice administration and course of study to enhance the dentist’s knowledge, skills and competence in providing services to the community. Not all dentists are equally trained, and Dr. Mirkhan has personally pursued a high level of education in her field. She has a prestigious recognition as “America’s Top Dentists” by the Consumer’s Research Council of America, and is affiliated with Scripps Health, meeting their standards of excellence for affiliation.
She serves on the medical staff at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Department. She is certified in many advanced procedures, including full mouth dental implant reconstruction. She is the recipient of several awards, including a first place award from the American Dental Association Table Clinic Competition. She was chosen in a recent year for a “Top Doctors and Dentist Award” by peers and popular ranking by patients on Web MD and other leading healthcare companies.
Her practice offers a range of procedures, including the most complex. From cleanings and prevention through to bone grafts, cosmetic dentistry, implant, crowns, laser gum cleaning, periodontics, restorations and sedation dentistry, Dr. Mirkhan continues to be at the forefront in current treatment options for maintaining tooth and gum health, and the newest options for enhancement and restoration.
