Grammy Award-Winning Songwriter/Producer to Donate Part of the Proceeds from Debut Album

HOUSTON - April 17, 2013 - PRLog -- To stand in support of the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombings, Billy Dorsey will donate part of his debut album proceeds to charities supporting the victims.

The album's release schedule has been finalized since January of this year. After Monday's tragic events in Boston, efforts were made to adjust the marketing and promotions of the album -- entitled "Marathon" -- but the release was unable to be pulled from the schedule. The album, conceived over a year ago, deals with the struggles of life and how one must persevere as if they were actually running a 26 plus mile race.

Marathon’s title track references how people face challenges but with the support of those around them they endure. He hopes that his album reminds all of us to never quit or grow tired because our very presence could help save the lives of others.

Having been homeless and losing his aunt to cancer, Billy knows the pain of tragedy and hopes to in some way help encourage and support those affected.
