Follow on Google News | The Health Insurance Group's Responsibility DealSpeaking on the subject of the Responsibility Deal, The Health Insurance Group’s Head of Compliance Mike Thomas said: “This is something that goes hand in glove with what The Health Insurance Group does every day. As a health insurance intermediary, this highlights to our customers that we are working not only to provide great private medical insurance, but also to proactively give information to our staff and customers about their health and well-being in the first place.” As part of the deal, The Health Insurance Group agreed to three pledges. The first of these three pledges is the fruit and veg pledge, designed to provide information about fruit and vegetables in the office environment. As part of the pledge they will also be running a number of fruit and vegetable days to help further encourage healthy eating. The second pledge is the Occupational Health Pledge, ensuring that all of The Health Insurance Group’s staff can maintain their health and well-being while at work. Mike Thomas had this to say: “This pledge shows customers that The Health Insurance Group will only use Occupational Health Services that meet the Department of Health’s standards. We will also be offering free Occupational Health Services to all new business customers with 6-99 employees for the first 12 months of their policy.” The third pledge made as part of the deal is the Staff Health Checks Pledge, which Mike Thomas was more than happy to speak about: “We invite staff to undertake a health MOT while at work. This was first done in February, and will be carried out on a six monthly basis showing our commitment to our staff’s health and well being. The health check kiosk takes staff’s weight, BMI and body fat levels, including taking information on things such as nutrition, sleep levels, exercise and more.” The health check pledge is designed to provide staff with information about their health, rather than instructions, these checks being “all about making small lifestyle changes that will make a big difference.” The Department of Health’s Responsibility Deal (http://www.healthinsurancegroup.co.uk/ End
