Many parents tell their children bedtime stories, and often dream about turning their tales into books.  For the most part, those dreams never come true.  But that is not the case for one father who realized his stories could help thousands of children all around the world.

Little Green is a story about a small frog who wants to be special.  “He hops out of the swamp and visits with a flock of geese, a team of horses and a school of koi, asking each group, ‘Isn’t it possible’ he is one of them,” said Arnold Rudnick, a gifted and talented author who launched his own publishing company, Paraphrase, LLC, with the award-winning ESPete: Sixth Grade Sense.

“Back home in the swamp, Father Frog helps a frustrated Little Green understand that ‘everything’ isn’t possible, but that he can do great things if he starts with being the best him he can be,” said Rudnick.

The book is a new take on the “be yourself” theme, with a decidedly different approach than Hans Christian Andersen’s The Ugly Duckling.  “In Andersen’s book, the author narrates The poor duckling was driven about by everyone, misleading the reader from the start before revealing everything’s okay because the creature wasn’t a duck after all,” the author explains.

Instead of confusing the reader, in Rudnick’s rhyming narrative, there is never a claim that Little Green Frog is a mutant goose, horse or koi.  “Although the animals mistake the little frog for one of their own at first, albeit green, they realize he has no wings, hooves or fins and quickly shoo him off, and the reader is never tricked into believing Little Green is something he’s not.

“With a touch of The Little Engine that Could, Little Green’s eager optimism challenges the animals that preach anything is possible, until he learns anything is possible, except that which is not.  In addition to a fun lesson in values, Little Green helps introduce animal groups to young readers, along with other traits, and opens the door to both amusing and important conversations,” said Rudnick.

The book, which sells for $9.99, is available at Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com and other online retailers.  For more information about the book, including rates for bulk purchases and fundraisers, or to schedule an author visit to a school, please visit www.isntitpossible.com.
