Showbizcafe: Kate Del Castillo On New Film “k-11” And Possible “la Reina Del Sur” Movie

ShowBizCafe’s Jack Rico gets the latest from cinema star Kate del Castillo, discussing the possibility of a “La Reina del Sur” movie, and working with Kristen Stewart’s mother.
LOS ANGELES - March 14, 2013 - PRLog -- ShowBizCafe recently got the chance to speak with telenovela darling Kate del Castillo, known for playing the lead in Telemundo’s “La Reina del Sur” in 2011. del Castillo explained her journey in playing a transgender inmate in the new film “K-11” directed by Jules Stewart, mother of famous Twilight actress Kristen Stewart. The film “K-11” addresses incredibly polarizing material, and del Castillo admitted that the role was a challenging one that will likely be met with no small amount of surprise.

Also covered in the interview, is del Castillo’s experience meeting actress Kristen Stewart, and the current state of the “La Reina del Sur” movie adaptation. The much loved telenovela has been in the works for an English adaptation for years, and del Castillo confirmed that she has talked to the rights holders about reprising the role of Teresa Mendoza. Although other actresses have been suggested, including Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, and Eva Mendez, del Castillo has voiced her desire to be the only actress to play the role of Mendoza.
