The 2013 NRMA Insurance Community Grants program is now open and looking for big ideas to help make local communities safer.
March 13, 2013 - PRLog -- The NRMA Insurance Community Grants program provides funding of up to $5,000 to community groups working in the areas of crime prevention, road safety, environment and emergency readiness and response. Since 2003, the Community Grants program has given more than $5.3 million to over 1,300 community projects right across Australia.

Applications can be made online at http://www.nrma.com.au/grants, where community groups can also view videos featuring past grant recipients along with hints and tips on preparing an application. NRMA Insurance spokesperson Mariana Cidade is encouraging local community groups to put their big ideas into action by applying for funding.

“Since the program launched more than 10 years ago, we have been proud to support many upstanding people and community organisations with outstanding ideas. It is an honour to partner with these local community organisations to help make our communities safer and more sustainable,” said Ms Cidade.

“A lot of fantastic work has been done by our grant recipients to date and it’s fascinating to see the difference they have made to their communities. We look forward to supporting many more this year.”

The program is open from today until Thursday, 28 March and provides grants ranging from $500-$5,000 (including GST). NRMA Insurance will also be offering a ‘People’s Choice Award’ for the second year running where one lucky applicant will have the chance to double their original grant funding to extend or expand their project
