Feb. 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Men and women interested in an extreme career makeover are invited to apply to the aesthetics program at International Academy of Hair Design and Aesthetics, 4812 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe. A new class is scheduled to begin March 19.

The laser program is approved by the Arizona Radiation and Regulatory Agency under the direction of Robert. S. Mindell, MD. The ARRA requires 40-hours didactic laser curriculum which serves as the core of the laser program. In addition to the 40 hours, an additional 24 hours of education is required specifically to laser hair reduction to include a minimum of 10 hands-on applications. Blood borne pathogens, wound healing, clinical charting, client selection, clinical photography, the Absorption Chart, and understanding laser and Intense Pulse Light therapy are incorporated into the 150 hours. From March through May the school will provide a free laser class to all aesthetics students.

“Unlike any other educational aesthetics training facility, International has taken the lead in solidifying the standards in cosmetic laser education for aesthetics students,” said Cindy Shorts, director of the Tempe aesthetics school. “In addition to our thorough training program, we are also working in conjunction with Viora to provide students with affordable, professional, physician-strength microderm machines to help launch their career in aesthetics.”

The school has been approved to issue state approved laser examinations to the qualified students at the Tempe location under the direction of the medical director. The initial provisional certification is issued by the medical director and International Academy of Hair Design & Aesthetics with the state-issued Certified Medical Laser Technician certificate to follow.

The school is located on the west side of Mill Avenue, just south of I-60.  There is covered parking for both students and clients.

For more information, potential students should call 480-964-8675. Additional information is available online at www.intlacademy.biz.
