ZapBoomBang Studios Honored Second Year in a Row

Feb. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- ZapBoomBang Studios, a state-of-the-art audio and video production and post-production facility, was recognized for excellence by the American Advertising Federation-Houston chapter for a second consecutive year. Each year, winners of the organization's ADDY® Awards are chosen by a panel of AAF judges to recognize outstanding work in the advertising industry. ZapBoomBang Studios celebrated the 2013 awards night with victories that included four Gold and four Silver ADDY Awards and five Citations of Excellence.  

Among the Gold-winning titles for ZapBoomBang Studios was work done for Lopez Negrete Communications’ clients MillerCoors and Verizon Telecom. The studio took top honors in the music and sound design categories for the Miller Lite spot “Nothing Else Matters,” and for Verizon Telecom’s “Orchestra,” the studio won Gold in the editing category. In these two commercials, the brilliance and artistic vision of the professionals at ZapBoomBang Studios truly shine. The spot “Nothing Else Matters” shows the viewer a group of friends as they unite to watch a soccer match, and the ambiance and music of the spot give the piece a larger-than-life feel. The outside-the-box creative of Verizon's "Orchestra" commercial takes the viewer to a virtual space in which a symphonic performance is performed, showing Verizon's powerful video streaming capabilities, as it is revealed to us that the conductor is leading his orchestra remotely by video.

“As we were working on the production of the Verizon 'Orchestra' spot, we knew immediately that it was an award-winner,” said Patricia Torres-Burd, general manager at ZapBoomBang Studios. "The creative was beautiful, and the production was impeccable. For us to get to take part in it was an honor. We also had a strong feeling about Miller Lite's 'Nothing Else Matters.' The spot is epic. We saw that it was going to be recognized, not only on the air but also as an award-winning piece.”

Rounding out the list of the 13 awards garnered by ZapBoomBang at this year's 51st Annual ADDY® Awards:

For the “Nothing Else Matters” spot for Lopez Negrete Communications client MillerCoors, ZapBoomBang Studios claimed two Gold ADDYs for music and sound design. It also received two Silver ADDYs in music and editing for the MillerCoors piece “The Plot." In addition, work for Lopez Negrete client MillerCoors collected a Citation of Excellence for editing.  
For the work done for Lopez Negrete client Sonic Corp., ZapBoomBang Studios won the Gold in animation or special effects for “Dots.”
Work for Lopez Negrete client Verizon Telecom took one Gold ADDY and one Silver ADDY for “Orchestra,” and one Citation of Excellence for the Verizon FiOS “Siloueta” digital pre-roll.
Tippit & Moo client Global Workers Solutions/EOG took the Silver ADDY for digital advertising.
Lopez Negrete client HULU received a Citation of Excellence for digital advertising.
Purple Songs Can Fly received two Citations of Excellence in the categories of campaign and broadcast/electronic/digital.
