Iconic photographer and director Matthew Rolston this month debuted the sexy music video “I’m a Woman,” his latest collaboration with actress Jennifer Love Hewitt and A&E/Lifetime Networks for the hit series The Client List. The multitalented Hewitt seduces, sings, and dances in this tongue-in-cheek adaptation of the famous female-power anthem, originally a hit for American singer Peggy Lee.

Sneak-previewed on Entertainment Tonight and covered by everyone from CNN to Us Weekly to Perez Hilton, the video attracted more than 200,000 views in its first 24 hours of release on YouTube and is currently charting in the top 10 Music Videos Added on iTunes. “I’m a Woman” will soon be appearing in multiplexes throughout the U.S., as the video goes wide on “FirstLook.”

Rolston worked on the runaway hit video with principal Steph Sebbag of powerhouse LA-based agency BPG and renowned music producer Randy Jackson (American Idol). Rolston collaborated in all areas of the video’s production, including writing its concept, developing the choreography with Los Angeles-based dancer-choreographer Tracy Phillips, and overseeing all elements of its editing and post-production.

A&E/Lifetime and BPG also called upon Rolston to shoot all of the print assets for the coordinating key-art campaign. Through his in-house documentary production unit, R-ROLL, Rolston created behind-the-scenes films of both the print shoot and the production of the music video.

In The Client List, Hewitt plays a single Texas mom who also secretly provides sexual favors for money at a day spa. She says one of the things she's most proud of about the show is that it portrays the somewhat heated subject matter in a way that is not degrading to women.

“I feel like we’ve been able to take an unconventional storyline and make it about female empowerment in some weird way,” Hewitt said. Her choice of the famous song “I'm a Woman” more than conveys that sentiment.
