Prior to joining the firm, Berde was a partner with a another regional firm in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 11 years including 2 years as the partner-in-charge of its San Francisco office. He began his career in public accounting at the San Francisco office of KPMG, where he spent 7 years. He also has experience working in the private sector as a controller and a CFO. Berde has extensive experience in auditing , internal control over financial reporting as well as reporting under Securities and Exchange Commission rules and regulations. He is a licensed CPA in California and Washington. Berde has been a member of the professional faculty at the Haas School of Business at the University of California – Berkeley since 2005, where he teaches auditing and forensic accounting classes. Berde earned a degree in Business Economics from the University of California – Santa Barbara. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American College of Forensic Examiners.
