In the late 90′s Derrick, also known as DMack, was diagnosed as Hypertensive. After extended conversations with his Doctor, Derrick finally agreed to taking medication for his “alleged” health issue. “Alleged” because DMack was otherwise healthy; He was a non-smoker, rarely drank, ate no pork, red meat, fried  foods and exercised regularly. “How could MY blood pressure be high” he asked?? Lifestyle was not as much a factor but heredity was.

After a grim prognosis from his Dr., Derrick agreed to take the medication. That decision forever changed his life, within months after beginning the medication, what seemed to be a case of flu actually was a bad reaction to the mediation which resulted in Derricks total kidney failure. The subsequent trip to the emergency room started in death and ended in a new life as Derrick Mack died on the operating table and miraculously returned to life.
