Tucson's Simons Physical Therapy gives back to community

Dec. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Tucson, AZ, – Simons Physical Therapy, members of Preferred Therapy Providers, Inc., the largest specialty rehab network in the nation, continues to contribute to their surrounding community by supporting local causes and raising the awareness of injury prevention.

Team members from Simons Physical Therapy attended the “Better than Ever” launch 2012 event earlier this year, offering to the participants free Functional Movement Screens (FMS) which assess clients’ weaknesses, asymmetries, limitations and imbalances. The score from the assessment predicted the likelihood of injury. This test is being used in most major professional sports teams .

Simons Physical Therapy is happy to support local non-profit causes, especially in an effort to enhance the public’s awareness of prevention tools based in up to date research.

As part the new FMS offerings, Simons Physical Therapy has added two new FMS-certified staff members,  who will consult with local youth, top athletes and weekend warriors on how to best train towards their goals in a safe manner.  Once the FMS screen is completed, the therapists are able to implement corrective exercises to resolve the dysfunctions that increase the risk of injury.

In addition to “Better than Ever”, Simons Physical Therapy gives back to the community by adopting several families in need around the holidays as well as participating in fundraisers for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  

For 10 years Simons Physical Therapy has been offering quality services using licensed staff in one on one treatment sessions that focus on manual therapy interventions.
