Brotha Magazine Chooses Independent Artists of the Year

Dec. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Gospel recording artists Javon Inman and Sean C. Johnson have been been chosen for the highly regarded title of Independent Artists by Brotha Magazine.

Javon Inman is the recipient of two Gospel Blue M.I.C. Awards for MALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR and SINGLE OF THE YEAR ("Redeemer"). He was also awarded a national contract with Central South Distribution, Inc. which will afford Javon's debut project to be in stores across the nation in the Summer of 2013. His song, "Unleash Your Power" won the 2012 En Sound Music Award for BEST CHORAL PERFORMANCE. Additionally, Javon won NEW ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the 2012 DMV Christian Music Awards. Furthermore, he received five nominations in the 2013 Rhythm of Gospel Music Awards and five nominations in the 2013 South Florida Gospel Music Awards! Javon's music can be heard on over 45 radio stations across the U.S. as well as in the U.K. and the Caribbean. His single, "Redeemer" has become a mainstay on many radio stations and reached an impressive position on the Nielsen BDS and Mediabase Charts.

Sean C. Johnson has used his talents as a singer and songwriter to allow God to shine through. What originally began as a hobby has resulted in a fusion of old school Quartet harmony, mixed with a little Jazz, and neo-soul. Destined to fulfill his purpose, Sean is just using the gifts that he was blessed with, allowing God to receive the praise; truly becoming a vessel indeed. This year alone he has toured throughout the United States and the U.K. His other accomplishments include being named 2011 Gospel Blue MIC Artist of the Year, releasing his 3rd cd in 2012 called Simply A Vessel Vol 3: Surrender All.
