Peveril's twig-tastic tree initiative

Dec. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- As we all begin turning our attention to Christmas trees, Belper-based Peveril Homes is branching out by launching an altogether woody initiative, which aims to give back to the environment and, in particular, benefit local woodlands and forests.

The leading local housebuilder has pledged to donate £15 to The Woodland Trust for every home which it sells in 2013. In return, the Trust will turn the monetary donation into saplings and also the careful nurturing of trees and woodlands.

Angela Thomas, sales and marketing manager for Peveril Homes, comments: “We fully recognise the importance of trees and woodlands and the benefits which they bring to the environment.  

“That’s why our tree initiative will hopefully go some way towards protecting our local forests and ensuring their longevity for future generations to enjoy.”

As part of the initiative, Peveril’s staff will also be swapping their desks for the great outdoors, throughout the course of the year, by getting involved in planting and will even be visiting schools to raise awareness of the different species of tree.

Angela concludes: “Having never done a campaign like this before, we are looking forward to getting our hands dirty and helping to keep our trees and forests flourishing.”
