Coral Gables Building Achieves LEED Certification: Historic City Makes Way For Sustainable Future

Nov. 13, 2012 - PRLog -- The Spinnaker Group Inc., is pleased to announce that 396 Alhambra, a mixed-use development that comprises of 255,000 square feet of Class A office space, 30,000 square feet of ground floor restaurant and retail space, and a 884-space parking garage, has earned the U.S. Green Building Councils Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification. Originally built in 1964, this project sought LEED certification in the Core and Shell category. Core and Shell construction covers base building elements, such as the structure, envelope and building-level elements, such as central HVAC, etc. These major renovations included 396 Alhambra Circle, South Tower along with the construction of a new office tower; 396 Alhambra Circle, North Tower.
