Does society today affect our Self-Worth? Advertising, news, TV Programmes? Unconditional thinks so.

Unconditional from Nikki King is an important new work in addressing the problems in a society basing self worth on what other people think of you. In this release we talk to Nikki about why she wrote Unconditional and who it is for.

Nov. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- Nikki King agrees with the concern about a society in which we depend for our own opinion of ourselves on what others tell us and say about us.  Opinions are formed from the pressure of advertising, society, school, peers, friends and family.  All have an impact.  Peoples opinions are largely driven by their false perceptions. This is a desperately fatal situation as it creates people who cannot take criticism with all the consequences.

Unconditional is a work that addresses this, and is a beacon for those many people suffering from the wounding words of others.  We asked Nikki why she wrote her book.

"First and foremost the reasons for the writing the book are my passion for words and writing. Words have always been the most powerful way that I personally have found for understanding myself, but also understanding others. It is when I write that my intuition comes alive and it is when I write that I feel most connected to others. It is through the written word that I feel I have the capacity to reach out to others.

"Writing a book has, therefore, fulfilled my own personal dream but my intention with this book has always been to address what I see as an ongoing issue, particularly in our society. The issue that I am referring to is that of image and our continued predisposition to value ourselves based on the external. Those of us who have been within the spiritual / personal development arena have probably addressed some of the reasons and have a wider understanding of the importance of self worth. However, it feels to me that there is a community of people who are still feeling pressurised, misunderstood and unable to see their own value. This book has been written for them. To challenge and support their understanding of how they view themselves and how they present themselves to the world, in a grounded and very real way.

"It has always been my experience that when someone tells their story in an open, honest and often vulnerable way, that it has the propensity to truly make a difference to how someone feels about themselves. The premise of this book is based upon my own life story to date and how it feels to be a female growing up in our society. My hope is that by sharing my story it gives other girls and women permission to share their stories in an open, honest and vulnerable way.

"This book has been designed to feel like the reader is having a conversation with me. I want it to feel that personal. The book has also been designed to be interactive. I am offering the reader access to me for coaching and personal support to be able to tell their story where appropriate and where applicable.

"The book encourages the reader to keep a journal and to engage in “undertakings” throughout the book to challenge current belief systems and learned behaviour. My hope is that the book will reach out to those who are ready to hear and are willing to take action and to create a community of women who choose to tell their stories challenging and supporting others. To choose to love and not to judge."

Nikki’s passion lies in the beauty of words and the power of the written word. Whether written for ourselves or written for others, words have the capacity to challenge, help raise awareness of the self, and can aid us to let go of fears and learned behaviours held within the conscious and unconscious mind. Words have the power to heal and create balance if used with the right intent.

Nikki’s own journey has led to a desire to work, at this juncture, with women.  She has a desire to help all women realise their true inner beauty, fundamentally believing that beauty comes from within. The days of valuing ourselves based on an external perception of beauty need to be a condition of the past. Once we harness our own inner beauty, we have the capacity to change how we view ourselves and the world around us. Working with women on self-esteem and worthiness is key in helping women to stand in their own truth and power. Nikki has a powerful intuitive sense that draws out the very best in the people that she works with.

Nikki’s own life story has been one of battling self esteem and self worth issues. She understands how it feels to be bullied and judged and has been her own harshest judge of all. Now she takes her own innate wisdom and all that she has learned to support you on your journey to a place of unconditional self love where you truly see the beauty within.

Her book can be found on Amazon as an e-Book at http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A3WKG0E.  The paperback will be published in the New Year.
