Affordable IVF Treatment Now Available For Queensland Couples

Nov. 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Imagine the heartache of knowing you have a good chance of becoming pregnant with IVF, but that you will not be able to do so because you can't afford the costs.  Fortunately, this is no longer the case, thanks to Affordable IVF, a new Queensland company offering lower cost IVF treatments on the Sunshine Coast.

With Affordable IVF, expected out of pocket expenses are approximately 1/3 of those charged by some other clinics.

“We have introduced the concept of a competitive, reduced cost IVF option” said clinic director Denise Donati. “We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to have a family without the added pressures of finances determining whether you can consider fertility treatment or not.”  

This alternative option can end up saving patients thousands of dollars; however there will be some minor trade-offs.  One of them won't be the quality of service that patients receive.  

Donati said, "Patients need not worry as they will still be receiving a high standard of care throughout their treatment."

The main trade-off is that treatment options are limited to only IVF and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).  In addition to this you must have already seen a doctor (fertility specialist or gynaecologist), who has recommended IVF treatment as your only option or you have already had IVF treatment with another clinic.  At this stage, Affordable IVF does not offer Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI), Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), Sperm Retrieval (MESA) or Donor treatments.

Interested couples must be eligible for Medicare Rebates and are required to have a referral from a GP to attend their initial appointment at Affordable IVF.  Only a set number of affordable, low cost cycles will be allocated by the clinic each month. This means that you may not be able to have your treatment when you want and may have to be placed on a waiting list.
