Online Community Gives Ashworth College Graphic Design Course Students Career Success Strategies

James Madison High School will exhibit at the 2012 Georgia School Counselors Conference. The conference is hosted by the Georgia School Counselors Association (GSCA) and will be held November 7-9 in Athens, GA.

Nov. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- PEACHTREE CORNERS, Georgia – Whether working at a Madison Avenue advertising agency, a west coast design firm, an in-house creative group at a large Midwestern corporation or working as a self-employed freelancer, professional graphic designers have their choice of career opportunities. Because it is a highly competitive field Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/), a leading online school, created a dedicated community group as a resource for students enrolled in its graphic design training course.

Ashworth created the Graphic Design Group within its online community so that students pursuing its graphic design training course would have a place to learn from, and network with, each other and members of the professional design community.

Ashworth’s accredited graphic design training is among its most popular online programs and the Graphic Design Group currently serves nearly 600 members (November 2012). The group is part of the 125,000 plus members the online Ashworth Community.

“Like the fashion industry, graphic design has its trends,” said Ryan Rode, Ashworth College’s Social Media Manager. “As the industry has become more technologically savvy, graphic designers need to have the right training and the motivation to be competitive and to keep up with these trends.”

Rode referenced Ashworth College’s online graphic design training program as an ideal way to develop skills for a solid career foundation.

Inside the Ashworth College Graphic Design Group

Ashworth has been educating working adults for the past 25 years. With the launch of the online group to compliment the Ashworth College graphic design training course, the school now provides a state-of-the-art resource that shares professional content with non-students, as well as provides social networking opportunities for existing students. Group members and visitors will find:

•   A network of motivated and engaged students and professionals who are willing to encourage others by sharing personal, professional and educational insights and successes.
•   Online study groups comprised of current Ashworth students enrolled in its online graphic design program. These students are quick to offer assistance with lessons and provide moral support to group members.
•   Insights from practicing professionals. Subject matter experts frequently host live events to answer questions related to this exciting career.

Rode added, “It’s a great time to be pursuing graphic design training. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that employment of graphic designers is expected to grow 13% through 2020, especially for those with related digital and computer skills.”

“I just started the program. It’s interesting… and a lot [of] fun.”  Posted by Graphic Design Group member bhenriquezwe12.
