Local 7-Year-Old Participates in Learn to Golf Clinic Designed for Children with Physical Challenges

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children sends 7 Yr old patient to Learn to Golf Clinic

Oct. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (http://www.tsrhc.org) (TSRHC) patients participated in a Learn to Golf clinic taught by golf professionals specially trained to teach children with physical challenges on Saturday, October 20th at Oak Hurst Golf Course in Bullard, Texas. Junior golfers also learned about golf safety, etiquette, driving, chipping and putting.  

TSRHC’s Learn to Golf program is designed for patients with challenging physical conditions. Learn to Golf provides the tools and instruction needed for patients to participate in and reap the rehabilitative benefits of golf.

The Learn to Golf program is proudly presented by WorldLink, Inc. The program also receives support from the North Texas Golf Course Superintendents Association and the National Alliance for Accessible Golf, which is funded through the United States Golf Association (USGA). There is no charge for patients to participate.

Justin Reed-Moser, age 7 of Tyler, Texas attended his first Learn to Golf clinic. He has been a patient of TSRHC since he was two months old and is treated for left arm brachial plexus, which is a nerve injury that occurred at birth and has caused paralysis to the left arm. Justin was very excited to play golf and get his first set of golf clubs. Justin loves to play soccer and also likes baseball. He is in the second grade at Orr Elementary School in Tyler.
