President Mike Toohey, who has been recruiting since 1998, established Contract Staffing Recruiters when he opened the job board CareersInConnecticut.com in 2000. The firm started by providing large companies such as GE and Pitney Bowes contract recruiters who worked on-site to provide contractors and direct hires. As Toohey recognized staffing needs in small and medium-sized businesses that could not afford an on-site recruiter, he expanded his business model to service those businesses from his firm’s Connecticut offices. Unlike many recruiting firms that concentrate on a specific niche, Contract Staffing Recruiters prides itself on its ability to help clients fill openings for any position or discipline, regardless of whether it is a contract or direct-hire need. Contract Staffing Recruiters has been growing rapidly in the past year.
