-- Bedales students aiming to take their performance work beyond school, to universities and drama schools, experienced workshops with three world class theatre companies when they visited for a weekend of drama in the Olivier Theatre. Performers from the Bristol Old Vic, Theatre Ad Infinitum and Frantic Assembly immersed students from Bedales, St Paul’s Girls School London and Tonbridge School in various areas of practical performance work.
The weekend also featured a talk by guest speaker Michael Brazier, new CEO and Artistic Director of The National Student Drama Festival.
Commenting on the workshops, Jay Green, Head of Drama at Bedales, said: “This was an outstanding weekend. It lays down a marker for the future – of what we can expect from the young people in our care here, of how we can raise the bar next year when we develop this event and most usefully of how we as a school can plug in to external professional work to lift our own practices. Having Tonbridge and St Paul’s Girls with us was a pleasure too. We all learnt from each other and hope to see them at The National Student Drama Festival next year.”
