-- The Mobile Biometric Product Testing Contract is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security; Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency, Human Factors/Behavioral Sciences Division.
The Biometrics Team at iBeta is very excited to begin working with Sandia National Laboratories. For more than 60 years, Sandia has delivered essential science and technology to resolve the nation's most challenging security issues. Sandia National Laboratories is operated and managed by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation. Sandia Corporation operates Sandia National Laboratories as a contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and supports numerous federal, state, and local government agencies, companies, and organizations.
iBeta’s testing involves working with the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate, specifically the Homeland Security Advanced Research Project Agency. By using existing NIST standards for each of the biometric modalities, iBeta will test mobile biometric products. The goal of this contract is to establish a government-accepted process that results in a list of tested biometrics products that government agency acquisition teams may utilize to procure mobile biometric devices that obtain accurate and timely identifications in the field.
Gail Audette, iBeta’s Quality Manager said, “All of us at iBeta look forward to the opportunity to work with DHS S&T and Sandia on this project. The scope of impact of this project will benefit Federal, State and local first Responders and iBeta is excited to be involved in meeting those mission objectives.”
